Soft, Subtle Cut Crease!

A cut crease in my opinion looks amazing on all eye types, although, I think it's one of those things that you have to have experience for it to look good, or you're just extremely lucky on the first try!

This was my first try doing a cut crease, and it took me so long that it started to go dark outside (which is why the pictures aren't the best quality). It looked easier than I expected!

I decided to pair the eye look with a dark red as the cut crease wasn't too bold, it was quite subtle.
To get the lip colour, I combined MAC 'velvet teddy' and Charlotte Tilbury 'so Marilyn' for a gorgeous, rich red.

I used 'triple fudge' in the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette to cut my crease and used the Real Techniques brow brush out of the eye set, and blended it upwards.
I used The Body Shop drops to lighten foundation (it's white) all over my lid and to clean up the edges of the cut crease.
I then swept "Creme brûlée'"
all over the white to give my eye a golden look.
I used triple fudge again for a soft wing from the bottom lash line and made it parallel to the cut crease.

It sounds so easy, but I had to go back in with each product I used to sharpen and make it more visible without it being too harsh.

Despite the difficulties, I really enjoyed creating this look as I do with all makeup looks :)

Thank you!

Gigi Hadid Met Gala 2015

I was looking through my Pinterest to come across a photo of the gorgeous model, Gigi Hadid at the Met Gala 2015. I thought she looked effortlessly flawless which inspired me to re-create the glowy, bronzey make up she was wearing. I love how healthy her skin looks and how her make-up is so simple yet amazing, so I thought I'd show you how I created the look similar to her's! :)
I started off by moisturizing my face, this is essential if you want a healthy, glowy look. I then went in with my Smashbox photo-finish luminizing primer and applied this all over the face for a smooth, illuminating base to work with. I then blobbed the NARS Sheer Glow foundation all over my face and blended it with the Real Techniques sponge. I made sure that I built the coverage as Gigi has flawless, air-brushed skin. This foundation is amazing for a luminous, smooth, medium-coverage (buildable) finish. I didn't use a concealer as I wanted the look to appear as naturally flawless as possible.
I recently purchased the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette and I'm in love with it already! I made sure to bronze up because Gigi has a beautiful sun kissed look. I also made sure my face was dripping in the highlight to give me that gorgeous glowy look! I used a little bit of blusher to liven up my face; Gigi looks as if she has a bit of colour too.
Gigi's brows always look naturally good, so considering mine already have a similar shape to hers, all I did was fill them in slightly to make them look thicker and darker with my Urban Decay brow beater pencil, and brushed it out with the spoolie brush. I then went onto my eye shadow, I put 'semi sweet' into my crease (the yellow arrow on the image below), this is because Gigi looks as if she has a soft, cool brown in the crease. I then washed my lid in the shade 'creme brulee' (the orange arrow) - Gigi looks as if she has a hint of golden glow on her lid. I then popped 'marzipan' (the blue arrow) onto the centre of my lid to accentuate my eyes. I then used 'champagne truffle' (grey arrow) as a highlight; on my inner-corners of my eye and the high points of my face to make me look extra glowy.
I then tight lined my eyes with black liner to make my eye lashes look as full as Gigi's, and added winged eyeliner and a voluminous mascara (too faced better than sex mascara, although I do recommend the waterproof one as the original flakes).I didn't add anything to the bottom lash-line as her eyes look bright and fresh.
To finish the look, I applied Charlotte Tilbury 'Liv it up' lipstick. I added the highlight colour in my Too faced chocolate palette to the centre of my lips to make them look as full as Gigi's. In my opinion, the pink lip looks amazing with the bronzey look.

A NEW START!

A whole new makeup collection??

It recently hit me that I was taking part in a cruel and unforgiving act of society- animal testing. I never really thought about it because it's forced into our minds so much that we learn to disregard the suffering we cause to these vulnerable animals. The horrifying thought of me being a part of this led me to do some research, have a clear out and completely stop using makeup brands that have any relevance to this act, disappointingly, some great brands I love do animal testing, but I do not want to own anything that will consider me to be a part of it. Fortunately, I found that some of my absolute favourite makeup brands are cruelty-free; like NARS, Charlotte Tilbury and Urban Decay! So, I thought I'd restock my makeup drawer and purchase some more great products that are completely cruelty-free! I did not realise how serious this matter is until recently, and I've done something about it.

I don't understand why it is necessary for some makeup brands to do animal testing because you can have amazing products without it. I have listed below some amazing makeup brands (high end and high street) that I recommend and that are totally cruelty free!
  • Hourglass
  • Too Faced
  • Urban Decay
  • NARS
  • BareMinerals
  • Charlotte Tilbury
  • The Balm
  • Becca Cosmetics
  • Bourjois
  • The Body Shop
  • It Cosmetics
  • Collection
  • LUSH
  • NYX
  • Tarte
  • Wet n Wild
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills
If you have any other recommendations then please let me know, I'm still on restoring my makeup collection and I' always up for trying new products!
